The Cirrus Transition Training Courses are from three to five days, designed to familiarize Cirrus owners/pilots to the technologically advanced Cirrus aircraft, its systems and advanced avionics. The training provides a thorough introduction to your appropriate Cirrus aircraft, the Cirrus SR20 or Cirrus SR22, and is a combination of both ground, simulator and flight lessons. The training will combine reality based scenarios including system failures and navigational decision-making skills.

Upon successful completion of the VFR or IFR transition training course curriculum, including all flight maneuvers and tasks contained within the appropriate FAA Practical Test Standards, a transition training certificate of completion will be issued which meets the requirements for most insurance companies. To ensure compliance with your insurance company's training requirements, you may wish to contact your insurance carrier for more information.

The Cirrus Transition Training Course is developed in conjunction with the FAA sponsored FITS program. The course is comprised of 7 lessons and an optional flight review and/or instrument proficiency check lesson after the transition training has been completed. NOTE: In order to rent Cirrus aircraft there is a 10 hour minimum training time (simulator & aircraft). For initial training (in your aircraft) there is no minimum training time other than your individual training requirements; however, all seven lessons must be satisfactorily completed prior to receiving a transition training certificate of completion.

The amount of time required for course completion is dependent up on several factors:
Experience level of the pilot
Total Time
High Performance Time
Garmin GNS-430
or G-1000 Experience
PFD/MFD Experience
Pilot Preparation Prior to Training
